This series provides an assessment of the 2011 epifaunal survey undertaken within and adjacent to the Tranche A development area of the planned Dogger Bank offshore wind farm (Creyke Beck) and along the proposed export cable route which extends from the south east corner of Dogger Bank to the East Yorkshire coast just south of Flamborough Head in the vicinity of Fraisthorpe. The survey was undertaken by Precision Marine Survey Ltd using the survey vessel ‘Mirage II’ in October and November 2011 and aimed to establish the abundance and composition of epifaunal communities (including demersal fish) within the survey area.

The survey was undertaken in two stages with the offshore export route and Tranche A wind farm area surveyed by Brown & May Marine Ltd between the 4th October and the 2nd November 2011 using the vessel ‘Jubilee Spirit’ and the inshore export route surveyed by Precision Marine Survey Ltd using the survey vessel ‘Mirage II’ on the 5th November 2011. All surveys were undertaken using a 2m beam trawl with a headline height of 55cm and 5mm cod end mesh. Shoe heights and widths were 77cm and 15cm respectively. |
