This report and data describes the existing commercial fisheries baseline for sea areas relevant to Dogger Bank Teesside A & B and Dogger Bank Teesside A & B Export Cable Corridor. Commercial fisheries in the North Sea are diverse and continually evolving. Factors such as fluctuations in the stocks of target species, economic pressures, controls and legislation influence commercial fisheries baselines over short, medium and long terms. Such factors should therefore, be recognised in the context of the timeframe of the construction, operation and decommissioning of Dogger Bank Teesside A & B and the associated Dogger Bank Teesside A & B Export Cable Corridor. At present there is no single data set, source or model which can reliably describe all patterns of commercial fishing activity within relatively small sea areas, such as those within offshore wind farm sites and along offshore cables. The baseline has therefore been compiled using data and information derived from a number of sources. Due to the differing data formats, collation methods used by, and data availability from the various national bodies responsible for fisheries statistics, data sets have been analysed separately by type and nationality.
